University Women's Club features Ellen Woodsworth at Persons Day Luncheon

Join The University Women's Club of Vancouver for their annual Persons Day celebration and luncheon on October 18th. This year they will welcome guest speaker, Ellen Woodsworth, former Vancouver City Councillor and Founder and Chair of Women Transforming Cities International Society. Ellen is a writer, organizer and international speaker and consultant on urban issues and is passionate about working for social justice, economic equality and environmentally sound planning. Ellen will speak about the work of Women Transforming Cities in partnership with the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW) in a three-year project titled “Action on systemic barriers to women’s participation in local government” funded by Status of Women Canada. The objectives are in keeping with international goals that aim to increase the involvement of women in leadership and decision-making at all levels of government.
