Board Member - Sneha Jain
“Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.” Maya Angelou. My name is Sneha Jain. My work experience includes 14 years of consulting; senior leadership experience in strategy, operations and quality, at some of the world’s leading academic health systems, in three countries. It is my strong belief that enabling women to explore their potential, will result in equal opportunities of leadership and effective participation. This is very pertinent to create true empowerment and bring about positive sustainable changes in the world.
Volunteering with WTC, has revalidated, how the mission and vision of this organization closely aligns with my values, both as a human being and as a woman. Being a new immigrant, even though qualified and able, I feel like many women, like me, are daily challenged, to consistently prove their worth, for varied reasons, often, what one would deem unfair. My dream is to create a just, fair and safe platform for women to speak up and support each other. I want to strive to be a potential role model to many like me, to stand up for our rights, pave the way for other women and inspire each other to advocate the value we bring and own our successes. Being on the board will allow me to lend my expertise, contribute to achieving the strategic goals, network, learn, develop as a leader and most importantly help influence, effective woman friendly policy changes.
Like Sheryl Sandberg says, “We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored” and I greatly desire to be one of them. Thank you for your time and kind consideration.
