The Canadian Centre Policy Alternative’s Gender Gap Index was created in 2014 to bring a local lens to the discussion of gender disparities across a range of areas related to basic rights. Modelled on established indicator frameworks such as the Global 6 Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives The Gender Gap Index analyses if men and women in Canada’s 26 largest
cities (i.e., with populations over 150,000) have relatively equal access to
