WTC board members Ellen Woodsworth, Dr. Joy Masuhara and Celene Fung, in partnership with Col•lectiu Punt 6, Huairou Commission, Seoul Foundation of Women and Family are heading to the World Urban Forum 9 (WUF 9) in February 2018 to launch the Women Friendly Cities Challenge: An International Collaboration Online Library of Wise Practices.

By sharing wise practices from all over the world, it will help make cities more women friendly and thus better for all. The website was developed by WTC and will evolve over time. The international panel will showcase initial content submissions and encourage cities to take up the Challenge to make their communities for women friendly.

The work of WTC in Vancouver takes place on the stolen ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge the leadership of Indigenous peoples since time immemorial and seek to learn and unlearn our own colonial practices as we work in cities as sites of resistance.
