Roundtable on Research and Practice of Women's Participation and Leadership in Climate Solutions

SFU’s Faculty of Environment is partnering with CityHive, Participedia.net, Women Transforming Cities, the Suzuki Elders and others hosted this invitational roundtable. We convened leaders, researchers, and students from diverse sectors – universities, civic society, policy think tanks, government and funders – committed to intersectionality and innovation that takes into account the complex relationship between women and climate change. The aim is to share and mobilize knowledge about the participatory methods that foster women’s leadership in climate change solutions.

The work of WTC in Vancouver takes place on the stolen ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge the leadership of Indigenous peoples since time immemorial and seek to learn and unlearn our own colonial practices as we work in cities as sites of resistance.
