CLARA PRAGER
She/Her
Clara grew up in a small town in Syilx Okanagan territory but has called the big city in Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories home for over a decade. As a kid, she remembers the moment she learned women could run for mayor and has been intrigued by local governments ever since. She is honoured to work alongside WTC’s community of intersectional feminists to make civic systems more equitable.
Clara has an interdisciplinary BA from UBC with a focus on Canadian and Indigenous studies. She is grateful for the many Indigenous peers who shaped her learning throughout her degree and co-op placements with government and Indigenous non-profits.
After a few years at a US-based community relations firm, Clara was drawn back to grassroots organizing by the desire to contribute to social movements closer to home. In addition to experience in policy analysis, research, communications, and community organizing, Clara has also been a barista, a babysitter, an admin assistant, and a dog walker.
