Surrey City Hall Field Trip

Do you live in Surrey and want to learn more about your local government? WTC is organizing a tour of Surrey City Hall, hosted by the city's parks, recreation & culture team.

This educational event, through WTC's Watch Council Program, is designed to demystify your civic government. It will provide an opportunity to learn more about how your city operates and how you can get involved in an inclusive environment. It's also a chance to get to know other WTC members who live in your community. Participants will:

  • Gain an overview of the City of Surrey operations and history of city hall.

  • Explore a variety of locations within City Hall like Council Chambers, the performing arts stage, and the Traffic Management Centre.

  • Learn about building features and the city's programs and services.

  • Discuss ways to get more involved in civic processes and decision-making on issues that impact your life.

  • Meet other people in your community with similar values and interests.

All are welcome, but space is limited. Priority will be given to WTC members and partner organization members/participants who are residents of (or have connections to) Surrey. If you are not currently a WTC member, you can become one here
