WTC Volunteer 2020-Ongoing

Serena is a tireless advocate for equity and social justice. As a volunteer at WTC for five years and an active member of our Watch Council program she spoke to Vancouver City Council various times on equity motions, especially those related to housing. Her commitment to advocacy deeply impacted the initial stages of the Hot Pink Paper Campaign in 2022 and supported others in our community to understand the role of sitting on the Women’s Advisory Committee. Serena is a teacher and librarian who is actively involved with the social justice committee at BC Teachers Federation and is committed to more equitable spaces in our schools. The generosity of her perspective and experience as a librarian has contributed greatly to WTC’s campaign and advocacy work.
