What is the Our City Hall Campaign?
Our City Hall is Women Transforming Cities’ campaign for courageous local policies that work for everyone—especially the communities too often left out of party platforms and council chambers.
Since 2014, we’ve amplified underrepresented voices in Vancouver elections on issues like housing and homelessness, childcare, gender-based violence, and climate justice, turning community priorities into real council action.
Formerly known as the Hot Pink Paper Campaign, Our City Hall is relaunching for the 2026 election with a vision of a city where every resident belongs, participates, and thrives—and where elected officials are held accountable at every step.

Fall 2025–Summer 2026
Community Engagement
In the year leading up to the October 2026 municipal election, we bring together and listen to residents and organizations across the city to understand their most pressing issues. This community engagement shapes the policy pledge we share with candidates.
September–October 2026
Candidate Commitments
We ask candidates for mayor and council to pledge to implement equity-centred policies that were shaped by our community engagement if they are elected. We publicly share candidate commitments ahead of election day.
Fall 2026–2030
Council Accountability
After the election, we meet with new council members to understand how they plan to implement their policy commitments. Over the four-year term, we mobilize our members to push for action during policy windows. We hold mayor and council accountable to their Our City Hall pledge through regular public progress reports on their voting record.

There are plenty of ways to get involved. One way is to attend our upcoming, free events. On Sept. 1st, we’ll be officially launching the Our City Hall campaign at the Helena Gutteridge Plaza at Vancouver City Hall. On Sept. 16th, we’ll be hosting our flagship event, the Our City Hall Forum: Council Candidates Debate at the Fei & Milton Wong Experimental Theatre at SFU Woodwards.

We hope that for the first time in the 2026 elections, the Our City Hall campaign will expand beyond Vancouver in partnership with local residents. We’re having conversations with community leaders about what this campaign could look like in their city. Effective campaigns adapt and evolve. Our City Hall is the next iteration of the Hot Pink Paper Campaign, and will build on past successes, learnings, and relationships established through conducting this campaign for over a decade. The new name reflects our mission to build cities where everyone belongs, participates, and thrives. What hasn’t changed is our commitment to amplifying the voices of those often not heard in party platforms and council chambers.

The Our City Hall campaign is supported through a grant from the McConnell Foundation, as well as funding from the BC Law Foundation, CUPE BC, Vancity Community Foundation, Union Gospel Mission (UGM), and the Vancouver & District Labour Council (VDLC). We are also sustained by one-time tax-deductible gifts, monthly donors, and WTC membership fees.
Successful campaigns require sustained resources. The more donations we receive, the higher impact and larger reach we can have through this campaign, so please become a donor if you have capacity.
